NBA PLAY

** NEW ORLEANS  + 7.5  at   UTAH

Well, the oddmakers are still continuing to not give enough respect to the Hornets and the way they are playing.  The seven and a half points are probably due to the fact that N.O. is on their third straight road game.  That actually doesn't matter to me in this game because I just think they are playing better than Utah right now.

I think the Wildcats are about to go on a role for the second time this season.  They will at least keep this one close and I believe can pull the upset.

NBA PLAY

** NEW ORLEANS  +7.5   at   L.A. LAKERS

Once again, I am saying that the Hornets are playing about as good of basketball as they can play, as of lately.  I know that the Lakers have looked good in their last two home games, but I like the way N.O. is playing and I like their chances in this game.

COLLEGE BASKETBALL PLAY

** VANDERBILT  +8.5  at   TENNESSEE

This has been a great rivalry game and the Commodores are playing some very decent ball for the time being.  I think this could be an epic match.

SUPER BOWL XLVII

One more Monday morning of the NFL season.  I hope everyone enjoyed the Pro Bowl.  I didn't get to see it because of work and my buddy had the bash of the fuckin century. Shit.  There was a time a while ago when I, as the huge fan that I am, liked the Pro Bowl.  Now it doesn't bother me that much, just like it wouldn't bother me for them to pick the teams, let them go to Hawaii and play a game of flag, because that's what it pretty much is.  So now I could give two armadillo dicks about it!  On to the big game we go and another frickin storybook type of match up it is.  I like the Harbaughs due to a great deal of respect for them as coaches and for Jim as a player also.  They are both great at what they do, but I do see Jim as the better of the two.  Just look at some of the circumstances he worked with while coaching.  C'mon, Stanford was a piece of bricked shit and was like a 40 point underdog when they beat the mighty USC.  This guy is an amazing coach!  This match up, though, is a toss up and is going to be one hell of a game.  Both QB's have shown spark and an ability to come up big in the clutch.  We now are seeing how injured the Ravens D was for most of the regular season when they didn't have Suggs healthy and Ray Lewis.  This team is THE hot team and what's trending lately in the NFL is that this team wins it.  Well that's all it is, folks, a stupid trend.  The Arizona Cardinals were that team in '09 when they played in SuperBowl XLVII, but they lost.  They came so damn close to winning though.  It has to be extremely hard to go against Baltimore, because of how hot and good they look, but I imagine you wouldn't want to back them either, due to Jim Harbaugh, that defense, running game and dual threat dart throwing QB.  This is as tough a SB to call as any I've seen and I don't like this game too, too much, but I do like the Forty-Niners and my boy Harbaugh to hold the trophy, and bet on the yellow Gatorade. Not really.

You could maybe wait a few days and see if people jump on Baltimore, and the Money Line goes down, but it could be well worth it.

ROGER GOODELL

Ok, so this guy acted a little unfair with some of the punishments he enforced onto the Saints organization and players.  It is also known that he didn't even have enough sufficient evidence to whether or not the players were even guilty of such charges.  I guess we HAVE to admit that the coaches really were, though.  I know the commissioner is trying to prove a point by being so stern and even making an example to save his ass for all the lawsuits he's got out against him.  I'm not saying I like him all that much or that he didn't do anything wrong, but losing our coach and our season is not a REAL tragedy.  I'm sorry, but I am a huge fan myself, but it just isn't, and this guy helped our organization when we were experiencing a real tragedy(Katrina), and is a big part of the reason our team did not get moved in 2005.  So if you are thinking of throwing shit at Goodell when he comes down to the city next week or even just yelling at him, remember you are showing ignorance and sort of a lack of class.  This dude didn't do all that much wrong in reality.  That's right, reality people, let's be real here. In the words of the great John Lennon, "Let It Be".

* KANSAS ST  +3.5  vs   KANSAS

I like the Wildcats to upset the Jayhawks in this cross-state rivalry tonight.  I like what K State has this year, because they could be for real.  I'll take the points, though.  You could wait and see if the line goes up because it started at +2.5 and already some Kansas backers.

COLLEGE BASKETBALL PLAY

* WISCONSIN  +10.5   at   INDIANA

You're looking at two really hot teams in the Big 10 that are about to go at it tonight.  I think the Hoosiers are one of the best teams in the country and expect them to go really deep in the tourney in March, but the Badgers aren't too bad either and always seem to bring the competition in this match up, especially.  I think double digits is just too much to give, although Indiana is extremely good at home.  This could be an upset, and I expect it to be a battle.

THIS TUESDAY'S TAKE

I will start off by saying how wrong and down right retarded I was with my last two picks/statements.  I went  against Nick Saban in a championship game.  That's a serious no-no.  He's now 8-1 and the only guy to beat him is a great coach, also.  I basically picked a media darling who had a lot of Catholic white guys going up against a bunch of thorough-bred swamp niggas.  Was I insane?  I swear it wasn't my meds.  Well, I thought there would be an upset but now I realize that not only is Saban the greatest college coach of all time, but his current program is the greatest college football has ever seen.  They lost 10 starters, I was incorrect when I mentioned  8.  They have an NFL farm team that just keeps producing the best talent.  Now on to to the pros, let's talk about how I expected a choking QB to win it all.  Yes the defense of Denver was bad defending the deep ball and they made some dumb decisions on offense, but they didn't really trust Peyton on third down late in the game.  He's a MVP player for Christ's sake, and you don't trust him.  Peyton and the offense weren't all that great in this game, being the fact they had two special teams TD's. The thing is that your MVP QB who had the season of his life threw 2 INT's, fumbled really twice, and threw across his body on second down, a throw which he knows that you just don't make.  Why did he throw it, you might ask.  CAUSE HE'S A CHOKER!!!!  "But they shouldn't even have gone to OT" Does that excuse a guy making a bone-head play in a crucial situation?  Like if you put a guy in an uncomfortable environment that he's not used to and is just very uncomfortable and he kills someone, is it ok?  "Well he shouldn't have been in that environment."  Excuses, excuses.  Which are always made by Manning supporters for him not getting it done.  Why is it that this guy usually just shrinks in the clutch or when the play-offs begin.  Just go look at his statistics in the post season all time.  He's just an average QB who you really can't trust to win a big game.  He's lost the most play-off games in the first game than anyone I believe.(8)  Well now with the final four teams I think the most complete team left is the team I thought was one of the most complete in the beginning of the season.  The Forty-Niners.  They've showed they can score and have a defense-eating QB and the best defense in the league, arguably, and the best one left, and they RUN THE FOOTBALL!! The way Atlanta squeezed by in their game and they way they just kind of deflated towards the end, showed me with how they set up that winning FG, they got lucky.  I really don't see them stopping San Fran at all.  Baltimore has a lot to play for, as we all know, but also an underrated QB and offense, so I think they've got a shot.  I do not think they will have much of an answer for that up tempo offense of New England, but it should be lots of fun to watch.

$$$$$----PLAY OF THE YEAR---$$$$$ 5 STAR POWER PLAY

                    2013  BCS CHAMPIONSHIP GAME

***** NOTRE DAME  +10  vs   ALABAMA

This is what I live for kids.  I am releasing this as we speak.  Signed, sealed and delivered to you for free.  You're welcome, because I think the Irish plus the points is the best thing since the invention of the internet.  Well, to me it is.  First off, Saban has been in several championships and will probably be in several more, but he isn't going to win all of them.  His first vs Oklahoma, if you go back and watch the game, they could have easily lost.  The second one vs Texas, all time college football winning QB Colt McCoy was hurt on their very first drive, which they drove right down the field on that Bama D.  Oh and a true Freshman QB who hadn't played a snap, and never amounted to shit, came in and kind of threw all over them in the second half.  News for you Nick : You won't be coaching against Stoops, Mac Brown, or Leslie Miles in this one.  Brian Kelly is on the same level as a coach as Saban, and in my opinion is the next big thing in college football.  It is super impressive that the Tide have even made it back to this game after losing 8 starters from last year's squad.  They are a very good team, but not that great and I don't see anything too special here.  Plus, there schedule besides LSU and Georgia, was a frickin' joke, and they could have easily lost both of those games.  I see leaks in their secondary along with some inexperienced and undeveloped players.  They don't have a Cam Newton, Trent Richardson, or Mark Ingram.  They do have two 1,000 yard rushers, but go look at who they got most of their yards against.  Notre Dame has only allowed 2 rushing TD's all year and have a great defensive line and overall defense, with a special play making field general at ILB.  For those who think the Irish can't match the talent level of Alabama, go do your homework asshole.  They have produced NFL talent for years now and have stole recruits from Saban and Miles in the past two years.  They have guys two deep on their defense that passed up opportunities to go to SEC schools.  They rush for over 200 yards a game behind a stout O line and their QB had came around towards the end of the year and I believe he can make a few good throws and plays to win this game.  Both of these teams have showed resilence this season and will play each other to the end, so I think we got ourselves an instant classic here.  I don't need to do any research to tell you that Notre Dame has more intelligence on their team than the Tide.  I just know, and they have more experience too.(29 seniors)  Although, I'm not as sure of an Irish victory as I am that they will play Bama tooth and nail, I think this game has upset written all over it, and I've called a couple in this game before.  I think Saban will even get a little out coached by Kelly.  That's right, so I'm throwing a little down on the MoneyLine also at +290.  ENJOY!

JOHNNY FOOTBALL!!!!  That's probably all I should have to write.  This guy has been the catalyst for most of this team's success this year.  I also think coach Kevin Sumlin has done an exceptional job.  This team continued to grow and get better this year, especially on the defensive side, where they weren't that great.  Their only two losses came to two of the best defenses in the country and they had chances to win both.  For all those who believe in going against the Heisman trophy winner in his bowl game because of past    occurrences, I feel really bad for you.  Try having a mind of your own, man!  The last three Heisman winners actually won their bowl games, so it's a bullshit trend.  Oklahoma's last two bowl wins were not at all impressive.  Last year they beat Iowa, who was a declining program, and the year before beat UConn in a BCS bowl.  HA.  I think Bob Stoops may be due to get embarrassed again.  He hasn't gotten smoked in a bowl since '07 vs W.Virginia, but embarrassed himself with that bone-head call to go for it on 4th down vs Florida early in the '09 BCS Championship game.  I'm taking the money line just to be safe, because I know Johnny Football and the Aggies are going to win this game.

LESSON LEARNED

I have to write this to apologize for my last College Bowl play and loss.  I have been picking games by the spread for 18 seasons now and have always had a knack for it.  I undoubtedly have learned a lot throughout the years and there were growing pains, and it made me realize failing was learning if you capitalized with a future opportunity.  Well you would think I would have known better than to trust Les Miles and his offensive coaching staff's overly conservative play calling, but this far into it, I had not.  No big deal, though.  My career is still young and bright and now I have another rule set in stone to follow, and that it is to never bet for or against an inconsistent, idiotic coach whom has a lot of good talent.  If you bet against them and they call a good game they can burn you like Miles did in 2010 vs Texas A&M.  Notice, he went balls to the wall in that game.  If you bet on them, well, you saw what can happen.  They do something stupid in the game to give the other team a chance.  The coaches who fall in this category as of now are as follows : Les Miles, Steve Spurrier, who probably should have covered yesterday too, and Mark Richt.  Never again my friends.   I plan to redeem myself for this loss with my next two plays..
