MONEY PLAYS

So as I am about to embrace you with my knowlege, I am going to foreworn some of my followers that there is no such thing as a LOCK. Got it? That means nothing is guaranteed son, because it aint.  The only thing I can probablly guarantee you is that I will not win every pick.  I always tell it like it is, although sometimes hoping to be wrong.  When there are investments on matchups, I rank my plays with a star ranking.  * is basically for shits and giggles, and I'm at the point to where my cold hard cash doesn't even touch these plays...Well, at least not too often.  There are also **, and *** which are when high stakes are risked, and ****, and *****  usually don't come around but maybe once or twice a season, but those are Mothers my friend.  SO LET THE GAMES BEGIN!!!!!!!!!!!

**Notre Dame -11  vs   South Florida

Did I mention I love Brian Kelly as a caoch.  I think he is great and the Irish are going to have a good season this year, and this is where it starts in South Bend against a team they are much better than.  Crist will get the start at QB and should look very sharp, as well as the defense that returns 9 starters.  South Florida brings back their QB BJ Daniels who is nothing more than mediocre and return less starters on a team that wasn't that good anyhow.    Predicted Score:  Irish 38  Bulls 17

Jordan Jefferson

So it seems it's not just on the field that this ass-clown is messing up.  He's got his laywers, he'll be fine but he may miss the opener, and it may be the best thing that ever happened to LSU.  Zack Mettenberger may have a little to learn, as far as , real game experience, but he also may be a better go at QB than Jefferson right now.  I thimk he just might be the real  deal and you might even see it this year.  Besides, Jefferson looks helpless at times out there, and seems dumb enough to go and get in trouble, when his face and name represents so much.

COLLEGE TOP 25

On my previous Top 25 Preview, I forgot to mention a team I expect to be in the top 20 maybe even top 15 this year.  The team I make this prediction for is Mississippi St., because they had a good year last season, and they return16 starters, 9 of which are on offense.  They are led by QB Chris Relf who rushed for over 800 yards and leads  a three-headed monster with two other solid RB's.  They're defense should be pretty good once again for Dan Mullen has done a great job with this program.  Watch out when threy play LSU at home on Thursday September 15.  This is going to be a great game and Miss St will give them a definite scare.

2011 COLLEGE FOOTBALL PREASEASON TOP 25

Well, looks like I am only posting a TOP 15 to save room and time.  Who really cares about the rest anyhow?  Unlike most other preseason polls, I rank the teams based on how I expect them to finish the season.

1. OKLAHOMA - Let's just be honest here.  This team is the most talented from top to bottom, but always seem to somehow choke, earning them the name "Chokelahoma".  Do not forget that Stoops won a championship in 2000, and do you know why?  He had a good offensive coordinator(Mark Mangino) and great D, as he usually does.  This year he will have Josh Heupel calling the plays, who started in last year's bowl game vs Uconn, where they looked brilliant.  Not to mention Heupel has been an assistant for Oklahoma for like 7 years now and was the QB of that 2000 Sooners team.  Hmmmm.  It's like I always say, two heads are better than one.

2. ALABAMA - Saban will have a brutal defense with experience this year.  The D line is sick, linebackers are stacked, and the secondary may be shutdown.  They will have a new QB in Sophmore A.J. McCarron who could be a talent as a duel threat. Trent Richardson returns and will contend for the Heisman, and they got LSU at home, whom they will seek revenge on.

3. LSU - They still have talent and playmakers on both sides of the ball, and should be improved at QB in a new offense.  They did lose a few big time players from last year, but are still a legit contender. I expect Jordan Jefferson to have a better season than last, but if you think that he will lead them to a National Championship victory, stop smoking whatever it is that you got because it's too potent.

4. OREGON - Returning QB Thomas and RB James will both be in contention for the Heisman, and Kelly's system is a proven winner.  They have enough talent to do something again this season, but they do play LSU in the opener without their ace CB Cliff Harris, who is a good PR for them also.

5. VIRGINIA TECH - The Hokies are like the Auburn Tigers of last year, in that they have a 1st year big, mobile QB and have a schedule in which all of their tough games are at home and could be favored in every road game.  Frank Beamer's teams usually have stout defenses, and should improve from last year.

6. FLORIDA ST - This is the most talented team in the ACC, and can win every game, with the exception of Oklahoma.  Jimbo has seem to step in at the perfect time, when they are getting lots of talent, and did a swell job last year.

7. BOISE ST - They still are lead by QB Kellan Moore, who is one of the best in CFB and 7 returing starters on defense.  Granted, threy play in a tougher confernce this year in the MWC, but all that means is they won't be blowing out 90% of the teams they play.

8. NOTRE DAME - I think the Irish will finally live up to their annual hype, because they are coached by Brain Kelly, whio I think is awesome.  They have talent at skill positions and QB, plus they had an overachieving season last year.

9. WISCONSIN - With NC St transfer QB Russel Wilson this Badgers team will be hard to stop.  They will have a re-structured O line, but still be one of the Big 10's best.

10. NEBRASKA - Bo Pelini is a good coach, but he hasn't been a head coach for long at all and I think he let some people down last year.  QB Martinez should have a good year and the D should be very good again, but he has a little bit to prove, for the word great is being thrown around too frivolously.

11. OKLAHOMA ST - Case Keenan and Blackmon return as the best QB/WR connection in CFB and their offense will be damn near unstoppable.  Defense will still be the weaker side, but should be improved.

12. GEORGIA - This team is a sleeper in the SEC.  Good young QB and they usually get good talent, and  with  Mark Richt at the compltete end of his rope, he does avoid the top 3 in the West in Bama, LSU and Arkansas.  If they can beat Boise in the opener in the Georgia Dome, watch out.

13. SOUTH CAROLINA - Lattimore and Jeffrey are the top RB/WR duo in the nation and the defense adds #1 DE Clowney.  Garcia is very formidable and has experience, so it is Spurrier who has the talent and needs to do something with it now.

14. STANFORD - This is a very talented team led by Heisman Trophy favorite Andrew Luck.  Concerns are a rebuilt O line and the loss of head coach Harbaugh.  They should be favored in most road games and get Notre Dame and Oregon at home.

15.  MICHIGAN ST - This is the best team Dantonio has had and capable of winning the Big 10.  They have a veteran QB in Cousins and a stud at RB.
16. TEXAS A&M  17. USC  18. TCU  19. ARKANSAS   20. TEXAS  21.  ARIZONA ST  22. HOUSTON  23. NORTH CAROLINA  24. PENN ST.   25. SOUTHERN MISS

RESPONSE TO COMMENT ABOUT DALLLAS

HA HA my friend, COWHERD?  Please, my source is myself.  I know it wasn't exactly the same team, but Wade Phillips went 13-3 w/ Romo in '07, and he wasn't any good at all as a head coach.  Garrett went 5-3 w/ Kitna last year, and the addition of Ryan as D coordinator is a big upgrade.  Romo will be back w/ a vengence this year and they can beat Philly because they KNOW them.  I mean, they were a game away from the conference title game 2 years ago w/ Phillips, so do your homework, son.  It's not like I said they were winning the whole frickin thing.

P.S.- Is this Jay?

NFL 2011 Season Preview

NFC EAST
1. PHILADELPHIA - Even if Michael Vick gets hurt, it's hard to not have them listed as one of the top teams in the conference.
2. DALLAS  -  No more Wade Phillips coaching this talented bunch and with the addition of Rod Ryan and the return of Romo this team should be back and better than ever.
3. NY GIANTS - The bad luck is already starting with them losing their 1st round pick for 6 weeks a day after signing him.  Other questions are how many picks is Eli going to throw?
4. WASHINGTON - Mike Shannahan has already proven to be way overrated, and is going to go with Sexy Rexy as the starter for Christ's sake.  Good luck.  This should be the worst team in football.

NFC NORTH
1. GREEN BAY - Aaron Rodgers and all that weaponry and the defense is still going to be good.  They will not repeat as champs of the league, but the division is almost a gimme this year.
2. MINNESOTA - Donovan does have one more good year left and this is the perfect squad for him to be on to have it.  Watch out for Percy Harvin and the TE Shianco to have big years.
3. DETROIT - They may be one year away from being a play-off team but the Lions, like last year, will be a competitive team.
4. CHICAGO - You can run but you can't hide from your performance in that Cahmpionship game, Cutler.  This guy is always due for at least 15-20 INT's and their defense is getting old.

NFC SOUTH
1. NEW ORLEANS - They now have a stud RB in Ingram and a very deep D line and secondary, so I expect a better version of the 2009 team.
2. ATLANTA - This team wanted to be explosive on offense to keep up with the Saints and drafting Jones and Rogers was the way to do it.  They're defense should be better, but I don't think they're the most complete team in the Div. this year.
3. TAMPA BAY - Mostly everyone is expecting a better year than last year from this team but I think in this division, winning more than 8 games is a stretch.
4. CAROLINA - Well with Cam starting at QB, they should be better, but not much.

NFC WEST
1. ARIZONA - I do beleive Kolb is going to be good and they drafted a good RB, which they needed.(Ryan Williams)  They're defense and special teams will be a plus again.  Patrick Peterson- Defensive Rookie of the Year?
2. ST. LOUIS - Bradford shouldn't have too much of a sophomore slump, and Spangola has done a good job so far, but that was 1 year.
3.SAN FRANCISCO - Worst kind of situation for a rookie caoch is this year with the lockout, plus they need a QB.  I think Harbaugh will be great in years to come.
4. SEATTLE - Tavaris Jackson as the starting QB is all I need to say.

AFC EAST
1. NEW ENGLAND - Well they wanted to improve after losing two straight home play-off games, and they did, and that won't happen this time.  Steven Ridley should help them grind more and Occiocinco should stretch the field, plus, Haynesworth on defense is pretty huge.
2. NY JETS - This team will still be in the mix to win this conference, as long as they JUST make the play-offs.
3. BUFFALO - The Bills lost quite a few close games last year and Fitz should be able to play well as long as they can get some production from C.J. Spiller
4. MIAMI - Still no QB, and not much else to even talk about.

AFC NORTH
1. BALTIMORE - They were so close last year and now it's their time, if any.
2. PITTSBURGH - Still a very good football team, but their defense is aging and you can't win every year in this league.
3. CINCINNATTI - Losing Carson Palmer was the best thing to happen at the time for this team.  There's lots of young talent at WR and they're D line is one of the best in the NFL.  Andy Dalton may be the most underrated QB coming out.
4.CLEVELAND - They seem to beleive in Colt McCoy in Cleveland and there's much reason to, but there are still several problems that need solving.

AFC WEST
1. SAN DIEGO - Phillip Rivers is an MVP candidate and they will be back this season.
2. KANSAS CITY - I expect a drop-off from last year's 10-6, but still a competitive team.
3. OAKLAND - Jason Campbell = mediocrity, which is around where I expect them to finish.
4. DENVER - Hiring John Fox was the right move but it will take a little time.

AFC SOUTH
1. INDIANAPOLIS - As much as I don't want them to, with the crappiness of this division, it's hard not to crown 'em.
2. HOUSTON - The defense should be better, which should put them over the edge, but Matt Schuab has shown inabilty to close games, and I personally think Kubiack is a fraud.
3. JACKSONVILLE - Well if they would just improve their defense already.
4. TENNESSEE - Hassleback doesn't have much at all left in the tank.  Just look at his stats last year. Well, it won't be any easier with this team.  Letting go of Jeff Fisher was not wise.  This Munchak guy could be fired after this season.

NFC CHAMPIONSHIP GAME :    NEW ORLEANS   vs   DALLAS
AFC CHAMPIONSHIP GAME:     NEW ENGLAND  vs    BALTIMORE

SUPERBOWL XLVI:   NEW ORLEANS SAINTS   vs    NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS
PREDICTED SCORE:  24-21 SAINTS

NFL Talk

Since there is so much NFL talk going on all over the place, I have got to get this out.  This stuff about the Philadelphia Eagles being a dream team is somewhat ridiculous.  The image of them winning the Superbowl this year is "fools gold".  Let me just tell you why my little friends.  First off, their QB is prone to get hurt because he is a running back too, and not to mention, not the typical QB to win the whole thing.  Now granted, Vince Young is okay and could take this team to the play-offs, but I think they're division is going to be real tough, with the exception of the Redskins.  Their best reciever, Deshaun Jackson, probablly will play and be fine, but he led the leauge in drops last season.  Not that good.  They really don't have another stout receiver, and their whole entire weaponry is not at all deadly.  The defense definitely should be a lot better, and yes threy should be one of the best teams in the NFC.  Now the team that not too many people are considering is the New Orleans Saints.  They have solidified their running game and run defense in the off-season.  This team will be dangerous again if the defense can just hold their own and get some turnovers, and I thimk thats what they'll do with all the moves they made.  This team reminds me of the Patriots dynasty in that one side of their team is great and the other side does enough to compliment them to be great.  The Pats were great on D and the offense was very decent, with Brady distributing the ball very generously.  The Saints offense is great and they're D holds their own and makes the plays that count, and let's not forget 6 of Drew Brees's receivers had 5 TD's last year.
